Training & Resources

Tumor organoids are revolutionizing cancer research and anti-cancer drug discovery. The deployment of the PreCanMed platform has the potential to greatly advance the research and innovation capacity of the Italian and Austrian border regions Friuli Venezia Giulia and Tyrol, and more globally.
Transfer of PreCanMed knowledge to a wide community will ensure the effective translation of PreCanMed efforts and results into advancements in personalized cancer care and accessibility to highest standard treatments.

This is the aim of the training opportunities and technical material we designed to build research skills and knowledge, and to broaden work perspectives of students, postdocs, medical doctors, scholars and researchers of the pharma and biotech sector.

Schools and Workshops

PreCanMed Workshops are organized about every 6 months and offer participants an overview on project evolution and achievements as well as in-depth analyses and debates on different topics related to the new enabling cancer technologies and to precision oncology.

PreCanMed Summer Schools will focus on more specific and technical aspects regarding tumor organoid development and living biobanks. Two of them are foreseen during the project period and will take place in 2018 and in 2019.

Main targets of these public educational events will be bachelor, master and predoctoral students as well as the scientific and biotech entrepreneurial communities.

1st PreCanMed Workshop

Participants to the first PreCanMed Workshop will get an overview of the project’s workplan and goals, and will learn about the latest advances and issues in precision anticancer medicine, cancer basic and translational research.

WHEN May 30, 2017
WHERE Hospital of Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria

2nd PreCanMed Workshop

1st PreCanMed Summer School

Lay your hands on tumor organoids! The first PreCanMed Summer School will provide the participants with the opportunity to directly experimenting this advanced technology, handle a tumor organoid culture and design drug treatments. A keynote lecture on the role of Bioinformatics in Precision Immuno-oncology, by professor Zlatko Trajanoski from MUI, will open this three-day educational event.
